Jennifer: <\/strong>A quiet shy soul; widow of slain pastor\/senator Clementa Pinckney; mother of 2 daughters \u2013 Eliana and Malana; librarian; enjoys hanging out with family and friends\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: What is the name of your organization? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer:<\/strong> SenatorPinckney.org Foundation<\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: How does your organization serve the community?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer:<\/strong> The foundation supports religious, educational, health care and charitable causes that Senator Pinckney had once supported. It also supports simple solution for gun control.<\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: What is your dream for the people you serve?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer:<\/strong> My dream is for the foundation to be a vital entity and household name worldwide.<\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: How does your organization align with your purpose<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Jennifer:<\/strong> Clementa was about helping those in need.\u00a0 He was a voice for the voiceless.\u00a0 I feel that anyone that can benefit from the foundation is better than not having it where no one benefits.<\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: Education and health care are two issues your organization focuses on. Why are those issues important to the communities you serve? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer: <\/strong>Many people aren\u2019t receiving proper education or health care.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t live in a certain area with a certain income, then you have a tendency to receive the worst services.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: As an advocate for changing gun laws, what change would you like to see?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer:<\/strong> Lengthen the wait time so that proper background checks can be done.\u00a0 If you have a prior criminal record, mental illness, or you\u2019re a known individual, group, or organization meant to do harm, you shouldn\u2019t have access.\u00a0 There should also be ways to close loop holes where people are getting guns illegally.<\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: As a survivor of a horrendous hate crime, has your view on the world change? How do you use your story to help others?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer: <\/strong>First I\u2019ve come to realize that life is too short.\u00a0 I have become more aware of issues such as gun control than ever before.\u00a0 In spite of the crime, you can\u2019t go around hating others and being afraid.\u00a0 That\u2019s what I tell and teach my daughters.\u00a0 Yes you have to be careful and cautious but you still have to live.\u00a0 Many people have approached me or I\u2019ve heard that I have given them strength.\u00a0 I put my trust and faith in God and that\u2019s how I get through, plus my girls keep me going.\u00a0 I help others by continuing to be the person that I\u2019ve always have been and I speak the truth.<\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: What is your favorite quote? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer:<\/strong> \u201cWhen life gets too hard to stand, kneel.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: How do you define success? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennifer:<\/strong> Being able to give and receive love.\u00a0 Being true to yourself and others.\u00a0 Being able to help others. Accomplishing life goals.<\/em><\/p>\n

Crystal: What words of inspiration can you leave the audience? <\/strong><\/p>\n
